Terms of Service

By buying, activating, registering, or using a TyraTag — or by creating a TyraTag account — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use TyraTag. These terms bind you as an account owner. A person who finds and scans your tag is not a party to this agreement; what protects them is the on-screen safety notice and the law, not a contract they never signed.

You must be 18 years or olderto hold a TyraTag account. A tag configured for a minor or a dependent must be set up and managed by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver, who provides consent on that person’s behalf and remains responsible for the account.

TyraTag is a QR sticker plus a best-effortnotification and information-display service. When your tag is scanned, we attempt to notify the emergency contacts you configured and to display the information you chose to share, without revealing anyone’s real phone number.

TyraTag is NOT, and must never be relied on as: a medical device, a MedicAlert-style bracelet, or a substitute for professional medical advice; a monitoring, alarm, dispatch, or personal-emergency-response service; a guaranteed emergency-response system; or a substitute for calling 911. We are never in the 911 path and do not dispatch police, fire, ambulance, or any responder. Every emergency scan leads with an instruction to call 911 immediately and states plainly that TyraTag is not an emergency service. In any emergency, call 911 first. TyraTag is a supplementary aid on top of that call, never a replacement for it.

Give accurate information when you create your account, and keep your emergency contacts and profile current — stale information reduces the tag’s value to a finder or first responder. You are responsible for your login credentials and for anything that happens under your account. Keep the physical sticker clean, intact, and legible; a damaged or unscannable tag cannot notify anyone.

The information on your emergency profile is yours to configure. Medical information is optional and shown only if you explicitly opt in; you can delete any field at any time. When you add an emergency contact, you confirm you have their consent to list their number and to have them notified if your tag is scanned and flagged — we send each new contact a one-time notice, and a STOP reply removes them. We do not verify what you publish, and a finder or responder may or may not act on it.

You will not use TyraTag, or the scan flow, to: trigger or stage a false emergency; harass, threaten, dox, “swat,” or endanger anyone; add another person’s information without their consent; defeat our abuse, rate-limit, or spend controls; scrape, probe, resell, or attack the service; or do anything unlawful. We may block, rate-limit, suspend, or terminate a tag or account used this way, and repeated false alarms may be auto-blocked.

TyraTag tags are a one-time purchasethrough our Shopify checkout — no subscription and no recurring fees. Shopify processes your payment; we never see or store your full card number. The price and what is included are shown to you at the time of purchase, and your tag’s core emergency-notification service keeps working for the life of the tag. We do not disable a safety device for non-payment.

You may delete your account at any time from your settings or by contacting us. Deletion stops future notifications and removes your data according to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these terms, for abuse, or to protect the safety of others. A defective or unscannable sticker will be replaced.

The TyraTag name, mascot, software, and design are ours or our licensors’. The profile data you enter remains yours; you grant us only the licence we need to operate the service for you.

To the fullest extent the law allows, TyraTag is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Notification depends on things outside our control — a person choosing to scan the tag, mobile and internet networks, carrier delivery, and reachable contacts. We do not warrant that a tag will be scanned, or that a notification will be delivered, timely, or seen. Nothing here removes any guarantee that cannot be excluded under applicable Canadian consumer-protection law.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising from TyraTag is limited to three times the amount you paid us for the affected tag. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for a failure or delay of notification caused by third-party networks, a tag not being scanned, or information you did not keep current. This limit does not apply to any liability that cannot be limited by law, including our own gross negligence.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from: information you provide that is false or that you had no right to provide; an emergency contact you added without their consent; your misuse of the service; or your violation of these terms or of law. You accept that TyraTag is a best-effort aid and that a notification may not reach anyone, or not in time.

We may update these terms, or change, add to, or discontinue features of the service, at any time. We will post the new version here with an updated date, and communicate material changes where required.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and you submit to the courts of Manitoba — without taking away any protection the consumer-protection law of your home province gives you.
